The AM5718AABCXEA Sitara processor is an Arm applications processor built to meet the intense processing needs of modern embedded products, delivering high performance through the flexibility of a fully integrated mixed-processor solution. The AM571x device combines programmable video processing with a highly integrated peripheral set, and programmability is provided by a single-core Arm Cortex-A15 RISC CPU with Arm Neon extensions alongside a TI C66x VLIW floating-point DSP core. This architecture allows developers to keep control functions separate from vision algorithms programmed on the DSP and coprocessors, reducing overall system software complexity. Additionally, TI provides a complete set of development tools for the Arm processor and C66x DSP, including C compilers, a DSP assembly optimizer to simplify programming and scheduling, and a debugging interface for visibility into source code execution.
