At the turn of the millennium, the company TDK Electronics (formerly EPCOS) was founded with a product focus on electronic components and systems. Target markets since the foundation: Automotive, industrial and consumer electronics, and information and communication technologies.

TDK maintains development and manufacturing sites in Europe, America, and Asia. The company thus draws on a broad range of expertise to further develop its products.
The sites in Heidenheim and Berlin primarily produce capacitors, inductors as well as sensors and arresters. At the headquarters in Munich, the production of SAW components (surface acoustic wave filters) is being pushed - for radio data transmission, for example in WLAN or mobile phone networks.
Success with small components: The company's success story began as early as the 1930s with the development of the magnetic material ferrite - a pure, carbon-free iron in the form of microscopic (magnetic) crystals. In its first application in radio equipment, ferrite reduced noise during a radio transmission.
In the meantime, ferrites are found in numerous electronic components - for example in transformers, switching power supplies, chokes or coils.

Minimise or even completely eliminate interference: Interference suppression filters reduce negative influences in electronic devices and optimise the application. In the area of high-frequency interference, the integration of ferrites is recommended. For low frequencies, the use of filters is necessary. Corresponding interference suppression filters from TDK are installed in power supply units or in audio, video, and computer technology.

Other categories
For mains applications, the integration of current-compensating toroidal core dual chokes is recommended. TDK's chokes do not affect the DC current or the low-frequency currents within the unit. On the other hand, inductive resistances are effectively reduced. The component is equipped with a ferromagnetic core. This means that the choke requires fewer turns, which makes a lower overall height possible.

The thermistors of the B57703 product series from TDK operate extremely precisely. The metal contact point enables good thermal coupling with easy mounting. Primarily, the thermistors are suitable for measuring temperatures on surfaces of housings, chassis, and pipes.
According to the respective area of application, the NTC resistors can be individually configured on request: for example, with regard to the definition of the necessary resistance value, the nominal temperature, the tolerances, or the wire length.
