The MSP430FR4133IPM ultra-low-power (ULP) microcontroller supports a low-cost LCD application that benefits from an integrated 10-bit ADC, such as a remote control, thermostat, smart meter, blood glucose monitor, or blood pressure monitor. The MCU features a powerful 16-bit RISC CPU, a 16-bit register, and a constant generator that contributes to maximum code efficiency. The digitally controlled oscillator (DCO) allows the device to wake up from a low-power mode to active mode in less than 10 µs. The architecture, combined with an extensive low-power mode, is optimized to achieve extended battery life in a portable measurement application.

The MSP430FR4133IPM FRAM microcontroller platform combines uniquely embedded ferroelectric random access memory (FRAM) and a holistic ultra-low-power system architecture, allowing a system designer to increase performance while lowering energy consumption. FRAM technology combines the low-energy fast write, flexibility, and endurance of RAM with the nonvolatile behavior of flash.
