The MSP430FR2353TRHAT microcontroller (MCU) is part of the MSP430 MCU value line portfolio of ultra-low-power low-cost device for sensing and measurement application. The MSP430FR2353TRHAT MCU integrates one configurable signal-chain module called a smart analog combo, which can be used as a 12-bit DAC or a configurable programmable-gain Op-Amp to meet the specific need of a system while reducing the BOM and PCB size. The device also includes a 12-bit SAR ADC and one comparator. The MSP430FR2353TRHAT MCU supports an extended temperature range from -40° up to 105°C, so a higher temperature industrial application can benefit from the device's FRAM data-logging capability.

The extended temperature range allows a developer to meet the requirement of an application such as a smoke detector, sensor transmitter, or circuit breaker. The MSP430FR2353TRHAT MCU features a powerful 16-bit RISC CPU, a 16-bit register, and a constant generator that contributes to maximum code efficiency. The digitally controlled oscillator (DCO) allows the device to wake up from a low-power mode to active mode typically in less than 10 µs. The MSP430FR2353TRHAT ultra-low-power (ULP) FRAM microcontroller platform combines uniquely embedded FRAM and a holistic ultra-low-power system architecture, allowing a system designer to increase performance while lowering energy consumption. FRAM technology combines the low-energy fast write, flexibility, and endurance of RAM with the nonvolatile behavior of flash.
