The AM5728BABCXA Sitara processor is an Arm applications processor built to meet the intense processing needs of modern embedded products, delivering high processing performance through the flexibility of a fully integrated mixed-processor solution. The AM572x device combines programmable video processing with a highly integrated peripheral set and includes cryptographic acceleration. Programmability is provided by dual-core Arm Cortex-A15 RISC CPUs with Arm Neon extensions, two TI C66x VLIW floating-point DSP cores, and a Vision AccelerationPac with four EVEs, allowing developers to keep control functions on the Arm processor separate from algorithms programmed on the DSPs and coprocessors, thereby reducing overall system software complexity.
