The AM5708BCBDJA Sitara processor is an Arm applications processor built to meet the intense processing needs of modern embedded products, delivering high processing performance through the flexibility of a fully integrated mixed-processor solution. The AM570x device combines programmable video processing with a highly integrated peripheral set, and programmability is provided by a single-core Arm Cortex-A15 RISC CPU with Arm Neon extensions alongside TI C66x VLIW floating-point DSP cores. This architecture allows developers to keep control functions on the Arm processor separate from vision algorithms programmed on the DSPs and coprocessors, reducing overall system software complexity. Additionally, TI provides a complete set of development tools for the Arm processor and C66x DSP, including C compilers, a DSP assembly optimizer to simplify programming and scheduling, and a debugging interface for visibility into source code execution.
