Differential Video Amplifier, UA733CN, Texas Instruments
The UA733CN is a monolithic, two-stage video amplifier featuring differential inputs and differential outputs. Internal series-shunt feedback provides wide bandwidth, low phase distortion, and excellent gain stability. Emitter-follower outputs allow the device to drive capacitive loads effectively, while all stages are current-source biased to achieve high common-mode and supply-voltage rejection ratios. The UA733CN offers fixed differential amplification options of 10 V/V, 100 V/V, or 400 V/V without the need for external components. Alternatively, the gain can be adjusted continuously from 10 V/V to 400 V/V by connecting a single external resistor between pins 1A and 1B.
No external frequency compensation is required for any gain setting. This device is particularly well-suited for use in magnetic-tape or disc-file systems employing phase or NRZ encoding, as well as in high-speed thin-film or plated-wire memories. It also serves effectively in general-purpose video and pulse amplifier applications where wide bandwidth, minimal phase shift, and stable gain are essential.
