This monolithic, positive-edge-triggered D-type flip-flop utilizes TTL circuitry to implement D‑type logic with a direct clear input. Information at the D input that meets the setup-time requirement is transferred to the Q output on the positive-going edge of the clock pulse. Clock triggering occurs at a specific voltage threshold and is not directly related to the transition time of the positive-going pulse. When the clock input is held at either a steady high or low level, the D signal does not affect the output. This flip-flop is guaranteed to respond to clock frequencies from 0 up to 30 MHz, with a typical maximum operating clock frequency around 40 MHz.
