Bus Transceiver, SN65LBC176DR, Texas Instruments
The SN65LBC176DR is a differential bus transceiver designed for bidirectional data communication on multipoint bus transmission lines. It is optimized for balanced transmission lines and meets ANSI Standard TIA/EIA-485-A (RS-485) and ISO 8482:1987(E). The SN65LBC176DR combines a 3-state differential line driver and a differential input line receiver, both operating from a single 5 V power supply. The driver has an active-high enable, and the receiver has an active-low enable; these can be connected externally to function as a direction control. The driver differential outputs and receiver differential inputs are connected internally to form a differential input/output (I/O) bus port, designed to minimize loading on the bus when the driver is disabled or VCC = 0. The port supports wide positive and negative common-mode voltage ranges, making the SN65LBC176DR suitable for party-line applications. Low device supply current can be achieved by disabling both the driver and receiver.
