The SN65HVD251DR is a controller area network (CAN) transceiver designed for applications using the CAN serial communication physical layer according to ISO 11898. It provides differential transmit capability to the bus and differential receive capability to a CAN controller at speeds up to 1 Mbps. Designed for harsh environments, the SN65HVD251DR features cross-wire protection, overvoltage and loss-of-ground protection up to ±36 V, overtemperature protection, a -7 V to 12 V common-mode range, and tolerance to transients up to ±200 V. It interfaces a single-ended CAN controller with the differential CAN bus used in industrial, building automation, and automotive applications.
