The SN65HVD234DR is a controller area network (CAN) transceiver designed for applications using the CAN serial communication physical layer in accordance with ISO 11898. It provides transmit and receive capability between a differential CAN bus and a CAN controller, supporting signaling rates up to 1 Mbps. Designed for harsh environments, the SN65HVD234DR features cross-wire protection, overvoltage protection up to ±36 V, loss-of-ground protection, overtemperature (thermal shutdown) protection, and common-mode transient protection of ±100 V. It operates over a wide -7 V to 12 V common-mode range. The SN65HVD234DR serves as the interface between a host CAN controller on a microprocessor and the differential CAN bus used in industrial, building automation, transportation, and automotive applications.
