Adjustable Positive Voltage Regulator, TL317CD, Texas Instruments
The TL317CD is an adjustable three-terminal positive-voltage regulator that can supply up to 100 mA with an output voltage range of 1.25 V to 32 V. It requires only two external resistors to set the output voltage. The device includes full overload protection, featuring current limiting and thermal-overload protection that remain fully functional even if the ADJUSTMENT pin is disconnected. Normally, no external capacitors are needed unless the regulator is located far from the input filter, in which case an input bypass capacitor is recommended. An optional output capacitor can improve transient response, and the ADJUSTMENT pin can be bypassed to achieve very high ripple rejection.
