Dual channel gate driver, PDIP-8, Texas Instruments UC3708N
Dual Non-Inverting Power Driver, UC3708N, Texas Instruments
The UC3708N is a high-speed, high-voltage power driver designed using a Schottky process to provide efficient interfacing between control circuitry and high-power switching devices, particularly power MOSFETs. Operating across a wide supply range from 5 V to 35 V, the UC3708N features two independent driver channels. Each input (A and B) is compatible with both TTL and CMOS logic levels and can tolerate input voltages up to the supply voltage (VIN). Each output can source or sink up to 3 A, provided power dissipation limits are not exceeded.
The two outputs can operate independently through their respective inputs, or they can be simultaneously forced low using either of two control methods: applying a digital high signal to the Shutdown terminal or pulling the Enable terminal low. The Shutdown function only disables the outputs, while the Enable function effectively places the entire device into an under-voltage lockout mode, reducing power consumption by up to 90%. During undervoltage or disable conditions (when the Enable pin is held low), the outputs enter a self-biasing low-voltage state to ensure safe operation.
