The TLC7225CDW is a quad 8-bit voltage-output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) with output buffer amplifiers and integrated interface logic featuring double register buffering. Each DAC has its own on-chip latch. Data is transferred into a selected latch via a common 8-bit TTL/CMOS-compatible (5 V) input port. Control inputs A0 and A1 select which DAC is loaded when WR\ goes low. Only the data stored in the DAC registers determines the analog outputs. Double register buffering allows simultaneous updating of all four DAC outputs through the LDAC\ control. All logic inputs are compatible with TTL and CMOS levels, and the control logic is fast enough for most 8-bit microprocessors. Each DAC includes an output buffer capable of sourcing up to 5 mA. The TLC7225CDW operates with input reference voltages from 2 V to VDD - 4 V for dual-supply operation. In voltage-mode configuration, the device can also run from a single supply rail with a reference of 10 V.
