This regulator represents the 2nd generation of power modules which include a reduced footprint and improved features. The PTH08T230WAZT is optimized to be used in applications requiring all ceramic capacitors. Operating from an input voltage range of 4.5V to 14V, the PTH08T230WAZT requires a single resistor to set the output voltage to any value over the range, 0.69V to 5.5V. The wide input voltage range makes the PTH08T230WAZT particularly suitable for advanced computing and server applications that use a loosely regulated 8-V to 12-V intermediate distribution bus. Additionally, the wide input voltage range increases design flexibility by supporting operation with tightly regulated 5-V, 8-V, or 12-V intermediate bus architectures.
