The L7912CV TO220 is a three-terminal negative regulator. This regulator can provide local on-card regulation, eliminating the distribution problems associated with single point regulation. If adequate heat sink is provided, it can deliver over 1.5 A output current. Although it is designed primarily as fixed voltage regulator, this device can be used with external components to obtain adjustable voltages and currents.
