Variable speed drive, ATV320D22N4C, Schneider Electric
The Altivar 320 variable speed drive is designed to power both 3-phase synchronous and asynchronous motors, offering a compact form factor that enables vertical stacking inside machine frames. With a rated power of up to 2.2 kW / 3hp and a voltage range of 380V to 500V AC, it is built for high performance in challenging environments. The drive features IEC 60721-3-3 class 3C3 coated printed circuit boards that ensure long-term machine availability, even in harsh conditions such as ambient temperatures of up to 60°C without additional cooling. It provides key functionalities including torque and speed accuracy at very low speeds, high dynamic performance via flux vector control without sensors, and an extended frequency range for high-speed motors. Additionally, it supports parallel motor connections, special drives with voltage/frequency ratios, static speed accuracy, and energy-saving features for open-loop synchronous motors.
The Altivar Machine ATV320 is specifically designed for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and meets both simple and advanced application requirements across industries such as packaging, material handling, textiles, material working, mechanical actuators, and hoisting. It includes five safety functions that help machines meet safety standards, regardless of whether they are used with a Preventa safety module, and these functions are configured using SoMove software. The drive conforms to international standards including IEC/EN 61800-5-1 and IEC/EN 61800-3 (i mmunity and EMC emissions). It is certified CE, UL, CSA, NOM, EAC, and RCM, ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards. External accessories like braking resistors, line chokes, motor chokes, and additional EMC filters are available, depending on the drive rating. Designed for vertical mounting (+/- 10°) on a panel using four fixing holes, the ATV320 is integrated within Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure Machine through DTM. It can be configured, controlled, and diagnosed using SoMachine and SoMove software. The drive is eco-friendly and complies with environmental protection directives such as RoHS and WEEE.
