The R-78HB12-0.5/W is a high-efficiency, high input voltage switching regulator ideally suited to replace 78xx linear regulators. With efficiency of up to 93%, very little energy is wasted as heat, eliminating the need for heat sinks and their associated space and mounting costs. The wide input voltage range allows full utilization of standard 12V batteries, as well as COB LED drivers. No external components are required to create a complete regulated, short-circuit protected supply. A built-in protection diode allows high capacitive loads. Typical applications include auxiliary fan CV power supplies powered by CC LED drivers, as well as industrial, aerospace, and battery-powered applications.
