SMD Contact Pad, Type W
SMD contact pads are used exclusively on printed circuit boards and, due to their electrical and physical properties, are an excellent alternative to SMD contact springs. Type W SMD contact pads feature a silicone core encased in a conductive, solderable film. These components are supplied in tape-and-reel packaging as standard.
SMD contact pads are characterized by the following features:
- excellent electrical conductivity
- high heat resistance
- high abrasion resistance
- very good spring properties
- automated placement on the printed circuit board via SMT process
- high adhesion after the SMT process
- very good adhesion through soldering of the SMD contact pads
- In comparison, fabric gaskets are hardly temperature-resistant and cannot be soldered.
