This dual-channel optocoupler contains a pair of light-emitting diodes and integrated photo-detectors with electrical insulation between input and output. A separate connection for the photodiode bias and output transistor collector increases speed—up to a hundred times that of a conventional phototransistor coupler—by reducing the base-collector capacitance. This dual-channel optocoupler is available in both an 8-pin DIP and an industry-standard SO-8 package.
