Company portrait Littelfuse

In 1927, Edward V. Sundt invented the first small and nimble protective fuse to protect sensitive test equipment. He thus laid the foundation stone for the Littelfuse company, which today offers products from all areas that work with electrical energy.

After the first quick fine-wire fuse, further developments followed, especially for the automotive, aircraft and communications industries. The basis for this was and still is the continuous improvement and development of innovative products.

In 1968, Littelfuse was taken over by Tracor Inc. and in the years that followed, as a wholly-owned subsidiary, expanded its business activities worldwide. After the takeover of Tracor by Westmark System in 1987, Littelfuse reestablished itself as an independent company in 1991. Then as now, the company's focus is on the manufacture and sale of fuses, now also for general industrial and commercial applications.
