Everything about the AM1: Your Questions Answered

The Aufmaster AM1 is compatible with Android devices from version 7 and iOS devices from version 18.0. Connection is via Bluetooth with a range of over 35 meters outdoors and 15-30 meters indoors.

The device measures all cables with metallic cores and at least two conductors: power cables, control cables, telephone cables, twisted cables, and CAT cables. The measuring range is 10-1,500 meters for cross-sections of 0.25-16 mm². Fiber optic cables cannot be measured.

Yes, the Aufmaster AM1 can measure cables that are coiled, laid out, or already installed. The only requirement is that the cable ends are not connected to each other (no short circuit present).

The AM1 has IP54 protection rating (splash-proof and dust-protected) and operates at temperatures from -10°C to +50°C. Weighing only 178g with CE/UKCA certification, it's designed for professional construction site use.

The app features a comprehensive cable database with over 1,600 cable types, updated monthly. Cables can be selected by scanning or search function. Unknown cables can be quickly calibrated with a reference piece of at least 20 meters.

Only if you're working on multiple reels simultaneously. Otherwise, the AM1 can simply be moved from one reel to the next after use. The device comes with two screw holes for permanent mounting.

Yes, all necessary data is stored locally on the smartphone. When using cloud features, data is automatically synchronized once internet is available again. The device stores up to 10 minutes during connection interruptions.

The package includes replaceable WAGO terminals for cross-sections up to 4 mm². These can be replaced with larger terminals or test probes at any time. The connection cable should not be unnecessarily extended.

Yes, the AM1 automatically detects short circuits and sends corresponding messages to the app. For a 100-meter cable showing only 30 meters, there's a short circuit after 30 meters.

With Aufmaster Plus, all measurement data can be exported in CSV format and imported into ERP systems like SAP. Alternatively, measurement reports can be sent as PDF via email.

The app is available in German, English, French, Indonesian, Polish, Slovak, Spanish, and Czech. The user manual is available in German and English.

No, all software updates for app, cloud software, and device firmware are permanently free. The basic app functions require no registration.

For automatic section detection, the AM1 is connected to the inner end of the cable reel. A small section is stripped and two wires are connected with the terminals. Polarity doesn't matter.

One smartphone can manage multiple AM1 devices simultaneously. Maximum 5-8 devices recommended per Android device for optimal performance. The 8 different colors facilitate identification.
