Accessibility Statement

According §14 BFSG

Introduction

Bürklin GmbH & Co. KG, as the operator of www.buerklin.com, is committed to making its digital services accessible to all users. Accessibility is very important to us so that as many people as possible can use our services. Our efforts are based on the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG) and the associated ordinance (BFSGV).

Description of the Service

Our product range is aimed especially at customers seeking electronic solutions for development, maintenance, manufacturing, research, and education.

Non-Accessible Content

Despite our efforts, the following known barriers currently exist:

Overview of known barriers in the Bürklin Elektronik online shop (as of June 25, 2025)
Area Description of Barrier
Keyboard Accessibility Dropdown menus are not fully operable via keyboard. Some controls are not correctly recognized by screen readers. Dynamic status messages are not announced via ARIA live regions.
Images / Non-text Content Some images lack or have duplicate alternative texts. Linked images have insufficient or unclear alt texts.
Links and Structure Some links have non-descriptive texts such as “Learn more.” Links with the same text but different targets can be confusing. Semantic markup for some interactive elements is missing.
Page Structure Some pages lack a clear HTML structure with properly used headings, especially a unique h1 element. There are multiple identical HTML IDs on a page.
Visual Design Text and controls do not always meet the required contrast ratios. Line and character spacing are not always individually adjustable.
Form Operation Form elements sometimes lack labels, grouping (fieldset), or ARIA descriptions. The submit button is not always clearly visible. Contrast ratios for form fields are sometimes insufficient.
Documents (PDFs) Provided PDF documents mostly originate from third parties and are not accessible. Post-processing is currently not planned.
Login, Registration, and Checkout Process These processes are partially not accessible.

This list is intended to transparently present typical barriers according to WCAG 2.1 (conformance level AA) and does not claim technical completeness.

Note on Economic Proportionality

We are aware of these limitations. Due to the underlying system architecture and the high technical effort required, a complete remediation in the current shop system is not considered proportionate (§ 17 BFSG). The current system is expected to be replaced by a new online shop within the next five years. The new system is already planned to fully meet digital accessibility requirements (especially full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance) from the start. We regularly review whether technical or organizational conditions change and will update this statement accordingly.

We kindly ask for your understanding that, in view of the upcoming replacement of the online shop, full implementation of the legal requirements will not be carried out in the current system.
