In industrial monitoring tasks, sensors detect environmental conditions. Sensor signals track continuous changes in the monitoring field within the process. They are available in digital and analog form.
As a rule, an electrical voltage or current value is provided which corresponds proportionally to the physical measured variables to be monitored.
If automation processes are to keep certain states constant or achieve them, analog signal processing is in demand. This is particularly important in process automation applications. Standardized electrical signal variables are common in process technology. Analog standard currents/voltages 0(4)...20 mA/ 0...10 V have become established as physical measurement and control variables. Weidmüller takes the increasing automation into account and offers a product portfolio in the field of analog signal processing that is tailored to the requirements of handling sensor signals.
