PCB Transformers

Transformers convert electrical voltage. They consist of a magnetic circuit, usually with an iron or ferrite steel core. The wire conductors of at least two different circuits are wrapped many times around this core. The windings are called a transformer coils. The primary task of transformers is to increase or decrease alternating voltage. Power line transformers, for instance, are installed in almost all electronic devices to convert the voltage from the power grid into the proper operating voltage.
