Motors

A motor converts a form of energy into kinetic energy and thus performs mechanical work. By setting a shaft in itself in motion, motors can drive mechanical devices such as gears. Bürklins range includes several types of motors, each with different characteristics and can therefore be used for different purposes. The extensive product range includes the following engines, among others:

  • DC-Small motor
  • DC-Geared motor
  • DC-Vibration motor
  • Stepper motor
  • AC-Synchronous geared motor
  • Soft starter

There are certain differences between DC motors (Direct Current) and AC motors (Alternating Current): DC motors are mainly used in automation and drive technology and are powered by direct current such as batteries, DC power supply or AC/DC converters. They consist of a stator (field magnet), a rotor (rotatable mounted armature / electromagnet) and a commutator (collector or current transformer for polarity reversal).

In AC motors, the stator is an electromagnet on the one hand and is driven by alternating current on the other. In addition, their speed is controlled by varying the frequency, for example by an adjustable frequency drive control. With DC motors, this works through the different supply of current to the armature unwinding.
