The soldering tip is probably the most important part of a soldering iron. It transfers the heat produced by the heating element directly to the soldering material and the solder joint. Nickel-plated copper tips are the most common variant. You can order more soldering tips for any station and almost any device. Special tips are often also available, to facilitate work on SMD components for PCB assembly, for example. The shape of the tip - chisel-shaped, pencil tip or diagonal - depends on the application in question and the preferences of the user. To ensure that the tools work well for a long time, oxides and flux residues should be regularly removed.
