Pneumatics

Pneumatics is a form of compressed air application. Air pressure is generated by drawing in and compressing ambient air with the aid of a dedicated compressor. When required, this can be released in a controlled manner to set machine mechanisms in motion. The resulting compressed air thus serves as a driving force for simple, but also for more complex work processes. Since air is available in sufficient quantities, pneumatics is considered a cost-effective drive technology. Compared to fluid-powered hydraulics, it is also safe, clean and easy to control and monitor. Pneumatic systems, also known as control systems, are used in the petroleum, wood and textile industries, in the chemical industry, and also in manufacturing, packaging and assembly plants, among others. If the pneumatics is electrically controlled, it is called electropneumatics. It is also considered to be an uncomplicated and easily controllable drive technology. Especially the electric form of pneumatic control systems is used in many areas of industrial automation technology.
