Open cable ends are connected to electrical devices using tubular cable lugs. In addition to the standard version with an eyelet, they are also available in a fork shape. The advantage of tubular cable lugs is that they prevent the end of a cable from splaying out when being inserted into the tube end. The cable end is simply inserted into the tube end of the cable lug and pressed together. The cable is then fastened to the relevant device with a screw. Tubular cable lugs are used, for example, to connect starter batteries used in small vehicles.
