Self-resetting fuses

Self-resetting fuses

Self-resetting fuses heat up in the event of high electrical currents such as short-circuit currents. This causes their temperature to rise and their electrical resistance to increase. After they have cooled down they are once again ready for operation. That is their great advantage in comparison to fuses that blow. Since no maintenance is necessary, self-resetting fuses are mostly installed in smaller electrical equipment in the low-voltage range, mounted directly on the circuit boards. They are available in SMD versions or with radial connections.
