Rectifiers convert alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC). This is necessary for operation of equipment that requires DC, such as TV sets, LED lamps, computers and many other domestic appliances. Bridge rectifiers are used in domestic appliances for reliable conversion of AC into DC. These employ four diodes which are connected to form a unit that admits the AC and permits the electrons to flow from it in only one direction. The result is rippling DC. Three-phase rectifiers are used to convert three-phase AC, also called heavy current or rotary current, into DC. They convert three-phase AC mains into DC for trams, and three-phase AC from a car’s alternator into DC. As well as plug-in rectifiers, we also offer in our range SMD versions together with corresponding diode modules.
