With the Displayport 1.4 cable you connect e.g. your graphics card with a monitor, TV or video projector. A Displayport cable transmits digital image and sound signals. This cable supports a maximum bandwidth of 32.4 Gbit/s which can correspond to a resolution of 7680 x 4320 at 60 Hz, 5120 x 2880 at 120 Hz or 3840 x 2160 at 240 Hz and a color sampling of 4:2:0. Higher color sampling reduces the refresh rate (Hz).
