Float switches

Float switches

In order to reliably determine to what extent a container is filled with liquid, various designs of the so-called float switch are used. A combination of electrical and mechanical components, they merely emit a binary switching signal. This signal can start the operation of a fill level regulator when the level is to be automatically topped up until the float switch triggers the switch again, for instance. Installed in a fuel or oil tank or in a submersible pump, they provide reliable information about the level in question. Their applications go far beyond heating systems and garden ponds, washing machines, or cars. Float switches are used in automated filling systems in industrial and commercial applications.
