Desoldering tools

Desoldering tools

To remove tin solder residue or to desolder through-connections, desoldering tools, also known as desoldering pumps, are used to achieve professional results. They are manually operated, and generally have a heat-resistant, self-cleaning tip made of Teflon. A spring system ensures that the pressure spring does not come into contact with the solder and scratches to the circuit or the component are avoided. Electrically operated devices with heated tips and vacuum systems cover two steps in one. The tin solder can be sucked up at the push of a button. Both variants can be operated comfortably with one hand. Special ESD versions also protect against electrostatic discharges. For particularly sensitive circuit boards and components, desoldering braids are recommended; they pick up the tin solder and are then simply cut down.
