Desoldering braids

Desoldering braids

Desoldering braids are used along with the desoldering pump for removing solder joints of SMD components, for example. These braided, flux-soaked copper wires are laid on the joint to be desoldered and heated with a soldering iron. The melted solder is absorbed and stored by the braid. The parts of the braid that have been used should be broken off or cut off after the process and disposed of. The soldering process itself should not last too long nor should the initial temperature be too high, to avoid damage to components, the circuit board or the braid itself.
