Capacitive proximity switches are used universally for the detection of any material. By means of an installed oscillator and a coil, these sensors generate an electric field. If an object moving in the switch’s scanning area cause changes in this field, the sensor reacts and emits an electric switching signal. The objects thus detected can be solids, granulates, or liquids. Even the smallest object can be reliably detected. The range of applications is broad and depends on the product to be detected. These switches can be used for fill level monitors in whirlpools or offset machines, laboratory containers or automated filling systems in the food processing industry, in industrial manufacturing, or storage and materials handling in logistics. Because of their design, capacitive proximity switches are not sensitive to electromagnetic, acoustic, or optical interference, contamination, or dust-rich environments.
