Current Transformer

Current Transformer

Current transformers in the field of measurement technology and IT convert high primary current into a lower secondary current for measurement or protection purposes. The various current transformers are used, for example, in the installation of electrical engineering, in electricity meters, switchgear, power stations or electrical substations. While transformers for measuring purposes protect the current circuit including connected measuring devices against overcurrent, those for protection purposes provide a primary current-dependent output signal even at high current overloads.

Bürklin offers the following types of current transformers, among others.

  • Cable Conversion current transformer
  • Voltage and current transformers
  • Din Rail Power Converter
  • Clip on current transformers
  • Three-phase current transformer
  • Shunt V/I converter
  • Attachable differential current transformer

When purchasing a transformer, a number of criteria must be taken into account - these include the technical characteristics, the type of conductor feed-through and the type of connection of the current transformer. In addition, it plays a decisive role as to which core material and which winding were used. Bürklin maintains a comprehensive data sheet for each product, in which all relevant technical features are listed.
