A NTC thermistor (Negative Temperature Coefficient) is a temperature-dependent electrical resistor. Unlike the normal thermistor, which reliably conducts current at high temperatures, the NTC resistor does so at low temperatures. As the temperature rises, the resistance of the NTC thermistor also increases. The result: less current flows.
The main function of NTC thermistors is temperature measurement and control, but they are also used for overcurrent protection. NTC thermistors are mainly used in air conditioning and heating applications.
