For CAN bus and PROFIBUS. Compact outer dimensions and horizontal cable connector. Metal housing and axial cable exit. Ideal for applications in harsh environments with high EMC requirements. The externally accessible switch can be used to toggle between node mode and terminating mode with active termination (terminating resistors). When the field bus system is to be expanded, this feature can be used to toggle the bus segment which is operating in active terminating mode to node mode and disable its termination. For error diagnostics at a specific bus node, the function also supports the decoupling of downstream nodes. The switch is submerged into the housing in order to prevent its unintentional operation. Versions with IDC clips are available for quick and easy connection of the PROFIBUS cable. Data rate in accordance with bus specifications. PROFIBUS up to 12 Mbps; Cable diameters: 4.5 mm to 8.0 mm. Single conductor cross sections: solid wire max. 1.5 mm², stranded wire max. 1.0 mm², CAN bus max. 1.5 mm², PROFIBUS IDC solid wire 2 x 0.64 mm. Sub-d screw: 4/40 UNC, knurled with cross recess. Degree of protection: IP 40. Housing material: thermoplastic UL 94 V-1. Temperature range: –20 °C to +70 °C. Certifications: UL E87403.
