Diplexer and Triplexer
The Bürklin Elektronik product range includes both diplexers and triplexers for transmit and receive operation. But how do these two differ from each other? The Diplexer is a passive 3-port device that allows two different devices to share a common communication channel. It consists of two filters with different frequencies, which are connected to an antenna.
The triplexer, on the other hand, makes it possible to divide an input into three different outputs, each with a different frequency. This also works the other way round by routing signals with three different frequencies to a single port. This bidirectional triplexer usually consists of three bandpass filters with different passband frequencies. Triplexers are used in smartphones, radar and other wireless transmission and reception systems.
